Edmundston is located in the Northwestern New Brunswick. Neighbor to the Maine state and the province of Quebec, it is the gateway to the Atlantic Provinces.

Approximately 20 000 persons live in the greater Edmundston, in a territory of 900 square kilometers.

Edmundston is located in the Atlantic Standard Time zone, which is one hour later then the Eastern Standard Time. Edmundston also participates in daylight saving time, which means that on the second Sunday of March of every year the clock goes ahead an hour until the first Sunday in November when the clock goes back an hour.
Newspapers :
Le Madawaska and L’Info Weekend are the two weekly newspapers in the region and are both distributed on Wednesday. La République, another local weekly newspaper is distributed on Thursday.
The provincial newspaper that is the most popular is L’Acadie Nouvelle, a daily newspaper.
Although the majority of the population is French speaking, it is still possible to find copies of the Telegraph Journal in convenience stores and the majority of the hotels.
