As the gateway to the Maritimes, the Edmundston region offers something for everyone
and for all ages. Here are five that promise to delight young and old alike during your stay.

A day in the great outdoors at Republic Provincial Park

Along the banks of the Madawaska River, De la Republique Provincial Park park invites you to take a break and recharge your batteries in nature. On the program: cycling, hiking, kayaking or paddleboarding (boat rentals available on site), tennis, volleyball and much more. You can even extend the pleasure by spending the night in a campground or cottage.

A stay in nature in a dome with a view of the stars

There's nothing like a cozy nest nestled in the heart of nature for a peaceful night's sleep! Two options are available to you near the city of Edmundston for a moment of relaxation in the forest. On the one hand, the luxurious domes of Eko Nature Glamping offer a panoramic view of Baker Lake, while on the other, the private Jacuzzi facilities of Quisibis Dômes invite you to drift off into a deep sleep to the sound of the river flowing just a few steps from your cocoon in nature.

A cycling tour of the Petit-Témis Interprovincial Linear Park

Linking Quebec and New Brunswick, this famous 134 km biking trail offers a variety of beautiful landscapes. Depending on what you're looking for, you can cycle the entire trail, or create your own itinerary along a shorter section. Either way, there's something for young and old alike, as the gradient never exceeds 4%. There are rest stops all along the gravel trail, so you can relax and discover new things in the towns you come across.

An outing on the water at Lac Baker

Located in the Haut-Madawaska region, this majestic lake is a must for families during the summer season. You can spread out your towel on the municipal beach and relax while the kids play in the water or on the playground. It's also possible to enjoy a variety of water sports, such as pedal-boating, paddle-boarding and kayaking. Fishing enthusiasts can even organize a boat trip to titillate the fish.

A visit to the New Brunswick Botanical Garden

Neighboring Republic Provincial Park, the Botanical Garden, which will open its doors from May 25 to September 29, 2024 for the regular season, represents a must-see stop when visiting the region. It features 12 themed areas, including a medicinal and aromatic plant garden and an exotic flower garden, as well as a waterfall and magnificent mosaics. For a bite to eat in a picturesque setting, take advantage of the beautiful terrace at Café Flora. If you're in the Edmundston area between October 3 and 6, 2024, don't miss La Grande Grouille d'automne festival, when the Botanical Garden is completely transformed for Pumpkin Fest.
