Whether you're an adrenaline junkie or looking for sports activities to enjoy with your family, here are five places where you can get moving rain or shine in the region!

Edmundston Sports Pavilion

The sports pavilion offers families a variety of activities with its semi-Olympic eight-lane pool, badminton, squash, and racquetball courts, walking track, and traditional gyms for practicing various sports.

Fraser Edmundston Golf Club

Did you know that the Edmundston region boasts a four-star golf course rated by Golf Digest? Along the Madawaska River, this beautiful 18-hole course is a hidden gem! Many golf enthusiasts travel to New Brunswick to play on this picturesque course, surrounded by mature hardwoods and conifers.

The Green River

In Saint-Joseph-de-Madawaska, Kasakayak offers kayak or canoe excursions on the Green River. Depending on your preference, you can rent your boat and head out on your own or choose one of the two available packages, either the Turbulent Eddy (17 km) or the Prime Bridge (11 km) descent. The family-owned business also offers peace of mind by providing shuttle service back to your vehicle after your river adventure.

Madawaska Trails

Just two minutes from downtown Edmundston, a network of 60 km of mountain biking trails awaits thrill-seekers. Located along the Appalachian chain, the area has a total elevation gain of 1589 m, making it the ideal playground for cyclists of all levels with seven trails for beginners, nine for intermediates, and four for experts. It's no wonder that an endurance race and an Olympic race take place on-site during the summer.

Edmundston Climbing Center

In case of rain, climbing is the perfect activity to take on new challenges with family or friends. This indoor center features several walls, including a 10.6 m high wall, a bouldering area, and a lower wall, perfect for introducing younger climbers to this exciting sport. Depending on your preferences, you can opt for free climbing, climbing with an instructor, or a group class to learn techniques for safe climbing.
