Are you looking for something fun to do? The Madawaska region has a wealth of attractions and things to do with your family, as a couple or with your friends. You will find tons of activities for all tastes (and ages); for the sport lover as well as for the epicurean! We have compiled for you our top 6 suggestions: Fraser Edmundston Golf Club, Downtown Edmundston, République Provincial Park, New Brunswick Botanical Garden, Ledges…Pioneers Place and Madawaska trails – the only mountain bike trails designated "Signature Trails" in New Brunswick!

Fraser Edmundston Golf Club

Located in the legendary Republic of Madawaska, the Fraser Edmundston Golf Club offers you an unforgettable challenge throughout your round not only by its variety of topographical changes, the mature trees lining the fairways and the well-placed bunkers, but also by its famous railroad track and lake. The Golf Club continues to be rated as one of the best golf courses in the Maritime Provinces in addition to being one of the rare facilities to possess a five-hole Junior Course designed exclusively for our very young golfers.

Downtown Edmundston

Explore downtown Edmundston through its unique pedestrian path. You will discover the delights of our local producers, thanks to our various stores and shops: bakery, craft brewery, specialized and vegetarian coffee shops as well as amazing restaurants that will awake your taste buds. Our public art, our arts center, our boutiques, our churches and our built heritage will also enchant you.

République Provincial Park and New Brunswick Botanical Garden

One of the most beautiful provincial parks awaits you… Nestled at the edge of the Madawaska River, the République Provincial Park offers you camp sites, chalets and rustic shelters with access to walking trails, the river and even a summer theater. You will also find access to the New Brunswick Botanical Garden with its thematic gardens, mosaicultures, herbalism, and local flavors from its Café Flora!

Ledges… Pioneers Place

This small-scale reproduction of the Village of Saint-François, formerly known as Ledges, will make you (re)discover several historical buildings including the family home, the church, the farm, the post office, the school and the general store…just to name a few!

From there, set out on a journey to learn about the cultural and social heritage of the region. This drive will take you to the Jos. B. Michaud blacksmith shop, the 150th Anniversary Heritage Room Museum and a dozen of historical sites, all of them instrumental in the history of the Village of Saint-François.

Madawaska Trails

Live the ultimate mountain biking experience only 2 minutes away from downtown Edmundston: a network of trails in the heart of the mountains (total descent: 1,589 m.). Close to 60 kilometers of singletrack trails (7 beginner, 9 intermediate and 4 expert) built according to IMBA specifications. Every summer, there is an XCM endurance race (Le Petit Sault 15/30/60) and an Olympic XCO race. They are the only mountain bike trails designated "Signature Trails" in New Brunswick!
