Half Marathon Festivities

Seconds before the starting signal, the atmosphere in Saint-François is tense with excitement.

Runners come from all over New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and the state of Maine. They’re getting ready to run 21.1-km (13-mi.) along the majestic St. John River. Races of 3 km (2 miles) and 8 km (5 miles) are also organized to encourage young people and novice runners.

In the days leading up to the half-marathon, the community of Saint-François swings into action to offer a wide range of activities for the whole family. Attend the coronation of Miss Half-Marathon or a show featuring local musicians. Contests, tournaments and a dance – everything is in place for one last shot at fun before the end of summer vacation.
